The process of making a bowl: In this picture I pressed a porcelain clay slab firmly into a plaster mold I made. Decorative stamps are made from flowers, seeds and nuts found in my garden. The flower shapes are poppy seed pods pressed into porcelain and bisque fired to harden. In the same manner, heart shapes are made from black walnut shells and mini-ball stamps are made from Kousa dogwood flowers that have gone to seed. Pictures follow of poppy seed pods, dogwood seed pods and black walnut shells that inspired these bowls.
